![]() ![]() Section 23: OPA Elections Subject: Candidate Signs Msg# 1226848

Section 600.2 General Criteria G. Number says: "In addition to the address plate, only one (1) sign of any type shall be permitted on any numbered lot." ?
What part of that declarative sentence is not clear? What part says someone can place 4 candidate signs on one lot? Get this - several board members tell me they will interpret the Guidelines sentence "In addition to the address plate, only one (1) sign of any type shall be permitted on any numbered lot." as meaning up to one sign per candidate. Unbelievable. Yet the board is willing to haul people to court because they have leaves on their property in a forest...... AFTER the board passed a Guidelines change allowing open burning of wood (desired by board members in their fire pits) in total violation of the DRs. Ken, it may seem meaningless, but why write and approve Guidelines if they are not to be enforced, or only enforced at the whim of board members. Write hundreds of violations for leaves on lots, but God-forbid the board do anything that might in any way reduce the chances of re-electing three incumbents. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: >>> g) All signs, billboards, or advertising structures of any kind are prohibited except upon application to and written permission from the Committee. <<< The Board might consider a resolution at the beginning of each OPA election season whereby lot owners posting OPA election signs in accordance with ARC guidelines are considered to have requested and received permission from the Committee. |
