11/1/2022, MD legislation created an office with the Attorney General to assist homeowners deal with boards of directors of HOA and condos. For too long, boards would try and force homeowners into submission or violate their by rights by using the phrase,”if you don’t like it, sue“. Knowing most homeowners cannot afford to do that, the AG created this office to oversee these complaints by homeowners. The court system is already swamped and removing DR violations from their jurisdiction to the AG was the solution to help homeowners. There are 8500 homes in Ocean Pines. The AG won’t prioritize an investigation if only a few people complain. If 300-500 people took the time to send a 1 page letter describing the actions of the board and management and how they violate your rights as a homeowner, we might get noticed faster. Mary Laspada |
