Again:
Maryland Code, Transportation § 21-1004: "(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, a vehicle that is stopped or parked on a two-way roadway shall be stopped or parked parallel to the right hand curb or edge of the roadway, with its right hand wheels within 12 inches of that curb or edge of the roadway." The roadway is the paved road. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The above indicates a vehicle can be parked 100% on the paved macadam so long as there is at least 12 inches from the passenger wheels (right side of vehicle) to the edge of the macadam or curb. So for a vehicle to be legally parked on an OP road, it must be parked in the direction of traffic (usually the right side of the road) and the right two tires must be 12 inches or more outside of the edge of the road pavement into the easement area. Currently OPA does not much care how people park on OP roads short of in the middle of the road I guess. Are you suggesting (i) OPA has the right to issue tickets if cars don't park as highlighted above, and (ii) OPA should begin issuing tickets? |
