The Classics course of study was 4 years Latin, three Greek and two French. I ended up with 3,2 and 1 respectively. Can still do the declensions in Greek: Haw, Hae, Tau, Tou, Tes, Tou and onward (phonetically, speaking)
Fr Duffy had me suspended from the basketball JV until I passed Greek. I finally did...the day before the season ended. The basketball coach was my math teacher. Got a 73 from him in the midterm that put me on probation and combined with that Latin 74, bye, bye. Six of us got bounced at the end of our Junior year. Two more got bounced in the middle of Senior year. Fr Harvey had no favorites. One of the two Seniors was the only black kid in the class. An all scholarship school, we started with 140 boys; 98 graduated. I've been welcomed back with open arms and have an honorary degree. As they say, "money talks". Among the famous graduates?? Andy Harris (left after three years to go to medical school. We've compared notes) Tony Fauchi (two years behind me. We've also compared notes) Patrick Fitzgerald of Scooter Libby fame (I had an invitation to meet him at a Regis function. I declined) |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: did Regis offer Greek? |
