I believe Route 15 was a post office designation, not a Maryland highway designation back then.
Our home on Seneca Creek was on Seneca Road. Postal delivery address in 1945 was Route 15, Box 271A, Seneca Road, Bowleys Quarters, Maryland. The A designation was because a long driveway was shared by two lots at that time. Lived there full time seven years - 2nd grade through 8th Our Lady of Mount Carmel. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Route 15 was back in 1945 or so Joe, I stand corrected. I confused MD rte 15 w US rte 15. MD 15 does indeed run thru Essex. |
