For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: All I am saying is that OPA can carry a mortgage for a fire station they do not own by amending the Charter or fund OPVFD's mortgage payments on the new Southside fire station by amending the current agreements between the two parties. You may well be correct. A legal opinion would be appropriate, and I am not sure if the board has one yet or not. The point is, this issue can be resolved, one way or the other, to build what is needed for the next 40 or so years rather than throwing $2 million or more into a rehab of that old firehouse. |
