Joe,
I'm one association member who would need a great deal of convincing before I'd support a management company. A community minded BOD would investigate the pros and cons of a management company, investigate several management companies and not just on the opinion of some association members, which has been the case on many issues. When one looks at an HOA as large as OP, a management company should be taking care of everyday operations just like Columbia and many other larger HOAs. Questions about who will take care of what operation, who will the employees work for and so on is a decision between our BOD and a management company, not on arguments formulated by members on the forum or even local newspapers. Opinions of association members should be taken into consideration along with facts and opinions from real folks who have hired management companies. Robert Robert. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I am sure some would be retaine, but the goal of the exercise is to lower the cost to our membership through efficiency and use of outsourced management expertise. Retained by whom? OPA or the management company? Who would occupy the offices at the Admin building? Or could we use most of that building for card playing after we hire a management company? I'm one association member who would need a great deal of convincing before I'd support a management company. What if the new management company hired our current GM? A major management company already hired a GM you and three other board members voted to fire. Maybe he'll be back. |
