( Did you go to the pool opening? I wish I could have been there. It is my favorite place! ) King and I stopped by to see how things were going. I felt a little bad for Kiwanis who was manning the hot dog booth. The pool DJ announced that there were free hot dogs available at about 11:45. I was over by the tennis courts at the time and by the time I walked over to the booth they were out of hot dogs. Kiwanis was not in charge of providing them and had to wait for some more to be sent over from the YC. That took about 20 minutes but the people waiting in line were very patient. It wasn't all that crowded at the time so I don't know why they ran out so fast. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Jack, There are many ...and very diverse neighborhoods in OP. I think it is more manageable to have the DRs as they are. Just before we built our house there was a change in several sections. I am not sure if all the original sections were included, but I am sure that Sec. 2 and 3 were included because I have the vote tallies for those sections. For some reason we did not even know about the vote, but it seems that a lot of folks did, because the number of votes was plenty to make the changes. I don't think you can have the same set of rules for land that is out in the open where everything can be seen, and for those in the woods where it is fairly easy in most cases to keep less than beautiful things out of the neighbors' line of vision. Getting two or three hundred people who share the same environment to agree did not seem to be very difficult...as I understand it....but I can't really imagine it could be done for the whole community. Kiwanis had 4 volunteers at the booth so at least they were prepared.
