You are right that I started the forum discussion and I'm still not satisfied that the board spent any time considering these racquet changes, or marina, parking, aquatics as well. I may be in the minority but I believe that board members have an obligation to do the homework and study the board packages before the meeting. Just not sit there and wait to be told what they should vote for.
No one forced you to run for a board seat. It's an obligation, not a privilege. Ask questions of management. That's your obligation to the members. This last merry go round was an embarrassment and totally unnecessary. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Only $3.00 a week. That's an insignificant amount of money according to you. Why bother even posting it? Cute sarcasm. I posted it to Jack because he asked about services that might be obligated to collect the tax. And yes, $3 a week is rather insignificant, despite pickleballers seeing it as a life-changing amount. Seems to me you were the one who started the entire forum discussion about the cost of racquet sports. I had a cup of coffee at a local restaurant the other night. It was $3. It is an insignificant amount in today's world. $3 a week is less than insignificant. As for the state tax bill, it goes beyond any amount the public might pay, even assuming anyone is stupid enough to believe the state propaganda on the cost per week. The cost does not even begin to cover the costs to those providing services now untaxed with the costs to do all the paperwork, etc. And these costs will end up in the cost of the services, plus the 5%, for a real increase beyond $3 to some unknown amount. Anyway, nice try, Ed, but no cigar. |
