And yes, $3 a week is rather insignificant, despite pickleballers seeing it as a life-changing amount. Seems to me you were the one who started the entire forum discussion about the cost of racquet sports.

I had a cup of coffee at a local restaurant the other night. It was $3. It is an insignificant amount in today's world. $3 a week is less than insignificant.

As for the state tax bill, it goes beyond any amount the public might pay, even assuming anyone is stupid enough to believe the state propaganda on the cost per week. The cost does not even begin to cover the costs to those providing services now untaxed with the costs to do all the paperwork, etc. And these costs will end up in the cost of the services, plus the 5%, for a real increase beyond $3 to some unknown amount.
