| My question is, you see help wanted adds at every business, there are tons of people not working at all, how are they living and paying their bills. Before Covid you didn’t see every business with help wanted signs or offering bonuses to start or stay. Unbelievable. Our work force is sitting it out. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Beach Patrol Life Guards are different form lifeguards at OPA for sure, but there are MANY public pools in Ocean city too short of help. The last 3 years the labor market ( ANY JOB ) has changed 180 degrees! Try to find pipe welders, millwrights, general construction labor. If you have not been around construction lately they are a shortage of workers at ANY rate of pay. Wendy's is paying 16$ and UP! OPA will have to design an inhouse program to start training life guards when they are young. |
