I have a slip at Pines Point and I can assure you, the going rate is not $2025. It's closer to $3k-more for the C and D docks. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Amy. I thought that we live in an HOA with amenities for the enjoyment of association members. I am tired of people complaining about our very reasonable association assessment by saying that they don't use the amenity therefore let the people use it pay. We bought in the community because of the amenities. Yes I have a slip in the marina. Because there is a waiting list should it go up until there is no waiting list? I pay $2,025 for my slip, the going rate for a slip in our area Do you want to charge $5,000 and gouge us?. Yes I have a summer pool membership that never pays for itself the amount that I use it. Yes I have a beach parking permit which I use about 8 times a year. There should be some advantage to being an association member. I don't use any other amenity but since I don't golf anymore I don't think we should charge $100 a round or charge association members a fortune to use the dog park or any other amenity FrankDaly's last post said aquatics cost each association member $ 5 in our assessment and the other amenities contributed to a decrease in our assessment. We should expect to pay a reasonable fee for amenity use but also realize we are living in an association where we all contribute to the enjoyment of the community. John |
