The point is that under the ARC Guidelines, an individual who is not recognized as a candidate within Maryland Election law cannot have a political sign in OPA.
That is my understanding. The DR guidelines make no sense regarding public office candidate political signs, and as written also require a permit for any board candidate signs. No lot owner gets a permit for a board candidate sign |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You define candidate, but the issue Ken raises is not that. He correctly points out the Guidelines state when such political signs must be removed but not when they can go up. The point is that under the ARC Guidelines, an individual who is not recognized as a candidate within Maryland Election law cannot have a political sign in OPA. Staying just within presidential politics, is there someone who can be currently recognized as a candidate for president in Maryland (for any future election)? As written, the public office candidate sign regs make no sense. Is that in reference to the ARC Guidelines? Or, is it in reference to the HOA Act provisions? Jim Trummel |
