Cathy, the use of the word "sadly" is appropriate. From all appearances, the two commissioners representing Ocean Pines - Bertino and Bunting - are more or less opposed to this project at the suggested location on Route 589. Unfortunately, the other five commissioners may support it.
In other words, there is NOTHING we can do that will stop five commissioners from going ahead with the project if they can get their hands on the property. Those five apparently, at least thus far, do not care about any adverse impact on Ocean Pines. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Just what we need 8 hotels. You said it. Sadly, some of the commissioners will be taken in by the Sports Complex sales pitch presented by the Sports Facilities Companies during the commissioners’ meeting today. A sales pitch is a sales pitch. We need our commissioners to be thinking critically about this pitch. |
