the original playground project at manklin meadows was a do-it-yourself community project. from what I remember, a group of volunteers raised funds to buy the unassembled equipment, the agreement was that the board/opa would match those funds.
Bob Thompson worked on making that happen about 10 years ago, along with Barbara Kissel and others. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: FYI brett and tom , the original playground project at manklin meadows was a do-it-yourself community project. from what I remember, a group of volunteers raised funds to buy the unassembled equipment, the agreement was that the board/opa would match those funds. I believe the company sent a 'foreman' on construction day to provide assistance to the folks in the community who volunteered to provide the labor. I'm not offering this as a template for the current discussion, just an fyi to provide some background. steve lind |
