For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Brett is in the best position to determine the value of this option. Indeed. Sounds from his response that his company is already involved with the State. However, two years ago I suggested to the board and GM that OPA look into a state relationship and no one was even interested enough to make a phone call. On our door step is one of the most valuable of modern commodities -- a major supply of fiber optic bandwidth. As I have said about the Beach Club on a number of occasions -- OPA has a gold mine but no one knows how to use a pick and shovel... and worse, is not interested in learning. I have no idea what a dark fiber network is, but can't imagine any business plan better than having it already installed and readily available from the state. |
