Many of the places that I enjoyed are long gone and some of the neighborhoods I knew in my youth aren't somewhere I want to visit today...it's heart breaking to see what some of them have become. In the early 60's Baltimore City had a population of almost one million. By 1980 the population was 785,000 and by 2000 the population had dropped to 650,000. A lot of things are long gone. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I've always heard that if you were raised in Baltimore, you never really leave there. Unfortunately, the Baltimore that I once loved now exists mostly in my memories. My wife manages to drag me back periodically, but the only draw for me is the chance to visit with our daughter. I don't venture very far from the immediate area where she lives.
