![]() ![]() Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Marty and the Trailer Msg# 744206

The Guidelines say: The ARC has determined that since its inception by Boise and follow-on ownership/management, the Ocean Pines community was established as a residential and recreational community -- to include swimming, tennis, golf, and boating. The DR does not place any restrictions on these activities. Thus, the Committee exempts boats and boat/ PWC trailers from this restriction. Other trailers smaller than 16’ in length, and less than 4’ in height are also exempt from the specifications of 800.2 and 800.3 below. The above is yet another example of the absurdity running rampant around here. Let's follow the above "logic" about what OP was "established as" to a logical conclusion. The logic breaks down because the above Guideline is selective. For example, the Guideline does not mention Boise included horseback riding. Since horseback riding was originally part of the community does this mean association members can keep horses or horse trailers on their property? Almost laughable is the sentence about swimming, tennis, golf and boating: The DR does not place any restrictions on these activities. Then again, Bill Rakow says ECC can establish any restrictions it chooses. Maybe it will decide to forbid all these activities. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This is a boating community. And didn't that section b in the guidelines that was added a few years ago clarify that fact? |
