I just sent the following email to the OPA Board of Directors: Now that legislation has been introduced to provide 10% of the slots impact funds directly to OPA, I suggest the Board of Directors take whatever steps are necessary to immediately begin lobbying in Annapolis for passage of the bill, just as the board lobbied for passage of the bill with regard to our police department a few years ago. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Well, some said it would never happen. Mathias, Conway and Elmore just introduced a bill to change the slots money distribution in Worcester County. It reduces the county amount to 60% and adds OPA to receive 10%. Passage, of course, remains to be see. However, if the local representatives really support this there is no reason for other state delegates to oppose.
