For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, There is a front page story in today's Independent "Charging dog killed by officer's gun". There are a number of aspects to this story I find interesting but most interesting to me is the very last sentence of the story. "He will receive a $100 fine for the dog being off its leash, Sharp said" (Sgt. David Sharp of the Maryland State Police) If you recall a number of years ago County Commissioner Tom Cetolla sponsored a leash law that was subsequently passed. The law lacked any prescribed penalties and essentially was just a slap on the wrist if violated. To your knowledge, was that ordinance modified with a prescribed penalty or is there now a "State" leash law? Norm |
