Bill, The entire 5.6% of slots proceeds that are to go to local governments (Worcester County being one of them) are labeled as local impact grants. Do you believe that Worcester County is going to have to justify direct and indirect impacts from slots in order to get the 5.6%?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, One more post on this to you. There will be public hearings related to any local impact grants before such grants are disbursed. That is the time to "flood" our commissioners with letters, emails, and a huge attendance if necessary. That is the time to have all of our ducks in line to put pressure on our elected leaders should they not do what is right. That is the time to make certain that the press is knowledgeable and not knee jerking with their personal beliefs. Also, as I stated before, you should not be so outraged because someone does not agree with you on this issue; you should be outraged that OC and Berlin have been promised something that they will not be able to justify. And when they don't you can jump on it. Bill |
