Hi Ed, As Marty said ....it was a SPITE PIG FARM...but he didn't mention that it SORTA became an "amenity". The pigs were cute and children and grandchildren always wanted to go over to visit the pigs. The pigs loved attention and were very pet-able. My own mother loved pigs! She raised them as a child and won prizes for her pefect pigs. She liked to visit "The Ocean Pines Pig Farm" whenever she came. I think when the fellow realized he had created what was "positive" situation for many people, he moved the critters out. I am sure it cost him some money to feed and care for a fairly large group of pigs. I really liked the pigs and was sorry to see them go. I can't see why they would annoy many people as there were no really close neighbors. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I SEEM TO RECALL THAT, SEVERAL YEARS AGO, THERE WAS WHAT WAS, PRESUMABLY, A "PIG FARM" LOCATED JUST NORTH OF THE ROUTE #90 OFF RAMP ON RT. 589. WAS THIS, IN FACT, A "PIG FARM"? I'VE BEEN TOLD IT WAS A FORM OF PROTEST BY SOMEONE. DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE STORY? |
