Section 13: Kayak/Canoe Subject: Lewis Road Kayak launch Msg# 839717

Kayakers need to be in good shape to use the new launch at Ayres Creek because they must carry the kayaks more than 100 feet to reach the water. And it is a sloping path, so it will be even more difficult to carry the kayaks back to the vehicle after time on the water.
My sister and I cannot carry our kayaks that far, so we will not be using the launch |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Information from Maryland Coastal Bays on the NEW Lewis Road Soft Launch on Ayers Creek. The launch is off of Lewis Road which can be reached by Route 611 or by Sinepuxent Road. The kayak launch is open from roughly dawn to dusk. The timer on the gate is currently set to open at 6:30 am and close ...at 8:00 pm. The policies are located on signs in front of the entrance and in the parking area. There is a bathroom and bike rack located at the site, but no trash cans so please come prepared to pack out your trash. We hope you enjoy this new recreational attraction.
