I do not find them distracting any more than any other sign along any highway.
Ocean Pines is a residential community. It took a special exception from the county to allow them. How many HOAs are fighting city hall, as OPA had to do, to install electronic signs in residential neighborhoods? The county should have refused. Ridiculous. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I actually have a different opinion on this than most. I see the electronic signs as a quick reminder of things that are happening. things not to be explained in detail by the signs but something that you might want to follow up on through other sources of information. I do not find them distracting any more than any other sign along any highway. I believe them to serve a useful purpose. I certainly favor them as opposed to the old analog ones. Perhaps we have not yet had the reason to post real time emergency information, but when the occasion comes we will be grateful. |
