I'm not a Civil Engineer but to comply with Maryland law the roadway would probably need an additional eight feet minimum?
I don’t believe that is correct. A four-foot bicycle lane is possible. It will require narrowing the existing lined motor vehicle lane by around two feet and police-enforced no-parking regulations on the Parkway, along with a reduction of the speed limit to 30 mph. Will the Board vote for that? I have my doubts. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, I'm not a Civil Engineer but to comply with Maryland law the roadway would probably need an additional eight feet minimum? Many years ago they wanted to add an additional lane to the expressway here in Philly but there is zero room to do so. The latest idea is to double deck the highway! There's a better chance of flying cars. |
