I agree 100 % regarding the Marlin Club food and food specials. We used to eat there at least two times a week. Now once every few weeks. I have had many discussions with management. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My wife and I tried the restaurant in River Run the other day hearing that it had graduated from the normal golf course fare of hamburgers and hotdogs. It is being run by Kim Acton who used to have Tutti Gusti in Ocean City. Rather than risk stealing Jack Barnes' thunder, I'm going to give it a very short review. The food is outstanding; the prices are very reasonable considering the area we live in and food prices in general. The last time we visited two years ago, it was golf course classic dive. Now it is a completely redecorated white tablecloth establishment. Our normal weekly retreat is the Marlin Club. Unfortunately, the management is giving a master class in restaurant mismanagement the last year or so. The kitchen seems to be in search of a theme with a half dozen weird specials every week and the promise of overcooked fish 75% of the time. Ironic for a fishing club. The fun motto always has been, " A drinking club with a bad fishing habit". It's become too true. Starr has better food, better preparation and equal pricing....and no annual dues. |
