Not politics. All property owners should get a membership card and if you want the discount, show it. I estimate 30 pool patrons a day at each pool unfairly getting the discount of $5 or $150 a day at each pool times 5 pools is $750 a day times 60 peak days a summer is $45,000.00. I think that's significant. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Obviously the Board majority wasn't concerned about covering increased expenses as they went against the advice of committees and operations and did not increase membership fees. Well, association members did not elect committee members to set policy for OPA. During peak summer time, the amount of short term renters getting that discount is significant. I will ask you what I suggested to Ken who also mentioned this. Quantify via actual stats what "significant" means. Then multiply that factual number by $5 to see how much more money would potentially be collected. In the grand scheme, it probably is not much. If you require a membership card to attend a board meeting, it makes sense to require it to get the discount. Well, in my opinion, the comparison between what people pay to use a PUBLIC pool and who can attend a private meeting of an HOA's Board of Directors makes no sense. You are into pure politics. |
