Parks asked that anything she wrote be "neutral." Here is where context comes in.

Not long ago, Parks made complaints to the editor of the Bayside Gazette about their reporter Jack Chavez, another good writer. Chavez was taken off the Ocean Pines beat, but still writes for the Gazette.

So, now we have a new reporter who finds herself suddenly involved in an email exchange with Parks and the other board members, an involvement initiated by Parks.

Parks says be "neutral."

Think about all that in context.

Also note, Parks told the reporter, "I encourage my board colleagues to respond to this email as well."
