Reducing our fees by any nominal amount is silly when they’re already reasonable and there are legitimate needs in the community.
Steve, many would agree. However, the board should have included the $1.6 million in the budget and explained specifically what “legitimate needs” would be met. Surely, it is not too much for association members to expect transparency. The entire budget process is geared for optimum transparency. Collecting $1.6 million more than needed and keeping it for a board slush fund for unknown uses is not transparency. Reducing the assessment by over 10% may not be viewed as nominal by all association members. Regardless, all I expect is transparency. Everyone should. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That goes without saying. I’m speaking in general terms. Reducing our fees by any nominal amount is silly when they’re already reasonable and there are legitimate needs in the community. And all that said, it’s awful nice to be running in the black. |
