If the terrible personal animus on display in the Bayside Gazette is an example of leadership, we have even more problems than I thought. If calling a fellow board member a "turd" in the newspaper does not rise to the level of taking away the presidency from a board member doing so, what on earth would?
I suggest to you that if Slobodan Trendic had said the exact same things Parks said in that interview, the board would already have a date set to meet and vote on removing Trendic from the board. You know it; I know it. Joe Your wording, logic and analysis amounts to asking for equality. I'd recall the blindfolded "Lady of Justice" holding her scales. Why is she blindfolded??? Its the symbolism of impartiality. And of equality. Parks needs to resign from being Prez of the board. Image below from THemmick - Image Title: Lady of Justice ![]() Tom |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Finally, a well known pundit provided the following sage advice which I will try to follow: "All board members should consider not speaking to the press about their fellow board members." Yes. Excellent advice. However, I was not asking you to talk about a fellow board member. I was asking what action the board should take, if any, when a board member does not follow the sage advice and denigrates another board member to the extreme at a very personal level in a newspaper. I know Doug Parks and respect his leadership and I don't believe that this error rises to removal from office. If the terrible personal animus on display in the Bayside Gazette is an example of leadership, we have even more problems than I thought. If calling a fellow board member a "turd" in the newspaper does not rise to the level of taking away the presidency from a board member doing so, what on earth would? Have we reached the point where it would take physical violence, or what? I suggest to you that if Slobodan Trendic had said the exact same things Parks said in that interview, the board would already have a date set to meet and vote on removing Trendic from the board. You know it; I know it. |
