it serves both purposes. Kids can play while waiting for food or others to finish eating, so they don't get restless at the table. Also, if you are at the point of having a wait for tables, it keeps them occupied while the parents order a drink from the bar,
Those outside playgrounds, at least the one's I've seen, are unsupervised. Parents leave their kids to go to the bar? Or parents continue and finish meals while kids are allowed to go to an unsupervised playground at a bar/restaurant in Ocean City? I could see a situation where the playground and tables were in close proximity and parents could see the entire playground from the bar area or from a table, and it was a "family" restaurant. I'm not so sure kids separated from adults in very busy bar/restaurants while adults drink alcohol is a particularly good idea. I realize that thinking out of the box can be good, but I just don't see how a playground at the YC is going to increase business or be a good idea for the YC. |
