It would be much simpler, quicker and all encompassing for Marty to attempt to modify the Guidelines, if he only had the time. Bill Hi Bill, So ....why don't we just take the time???? The DR's are the DR's and The Guidelines are things that can come and go...depending who is chosen for the guidelines committe and who is on the BoD. I would assume that most people really DO understand the original DRs....which were written before anyone ever had a glimmer of "work trailers" coming to Ocean Pines for anything other than a "house call" for repairs or perhaps an addition to a home. THINGS HAVE CHANGED IN 42 years!!! If some folks need these trailers to make a living, wouldn't it be best for for OPA to be creative and figure out a way that they can have them ....and NOT subject neighbors to a less than pleasant vista???? A person could submit an application to have a trailer complete with the landscape plans for screening it just as they present house plans. In my SS neighborhood, a guy had a small dump truck that he wanted to keep at his home. The neighbors were having a fit. The county does not allow such a vehicle to be parked on the street in a residential neighborhood. The problem has been solved to everyone's satisfaction by a higher than usual fence (still within the limits )with an arbor and vines on top. The entrance to the backyard has a tall gate. A lovely arbor surrounds the gate and is actually an asset to the property. No one can see the *&%$ truck unless they go into the back yard. THAT IS CREATIVITY. LET'S TRY TO THINK SMARTER...and make life easier for people. I care HOW THINGS LOOK....but I don't want to keep a guy from making a living. How CAN YOU ignore some of the hideous boat arrangements in Ocean Pines and then get so upset about a neat clean box trailer. I am wondering just which of the two that you would choose to have across the street from you? I think BOTH should be screened from view. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, the good Paster could make an effort to change the DR's. He would likely only address his own Section, not all of them, which would leave us in a fine mess. Section 10 has 1,294 numbered lots so I wouldn't say that it would take him very little time. It would be much simpler, quicker and all encompassing for Marty to attempt to modify the Guidelines, if he only had the time. |
