The DRs don't allow fences. Where, for example, does the above give the committee the right to approve dog-run fences, or "privacy" fences, or even your "invisible" fence? UH...are you new here? I can't believe that you have not noticed that there are all sorts of fences...landscape fencing and privacy fencing, play areas for children... all over Ocean Pines. And there just might be some hidden inside thickets of Laurel where no one can see them!! As with the trailer issue, Boise never forsaw that Ocean Pines would be a year round community with real people doing real things. They thought perhaps some folks might retire here but did not forsee busses loaded with children going to school. Forty-Two years later....things are DIFFERENT. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: In most cases, a higher fence than is usually allowed in OP would be needed The DRs don't allow fences. C. In order to preserve the natural quality and aesthetic appearance of the existing geographic areas within the Subdivision, all property lines shall be kept free and open one to another and no fences shall be permitted on any lot or lot lines except where, in the opinion of the Committee, a fence or other enclosure, as a structure or aesthetic feature of a design concept, will contribute to and be in keeping with the character of the area. Where, for example, does the above give the committee the right to approve dog-run fences, or "privacy" fences, or even your "invisible" fence? |
