Jack, Why is it that there are no At-Large members on the commission? Most counties have both. In Montgomery we are divided into 5 districts and we have 4 At-Large members also. I think that is a good way. ( I like it because my neighborhood usually has at least two council members. Right now we have three! ) Do you think that the way the county is set up is just to keep Ocean Pines from electing more members? Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You are missing the point. The other commissioners do not care about Ocean Pines. Believe me, I am well aware of that situation. Our 1 1/2 commissioners have some leverage with their 2 votes but it is still a struggle, especially if they don't have the expertise to strong arm their fellow Commissioners. I don't know about now but our two prior term local Commissioners had no love for each other so any joint cooperation was lacking. |
As I have said before too many of our politicians are more interested in "being" than "doing".
