It wasn't a secret that the main reason for voting for slots was the revenue to be derived from it. Couple that with a large state deficit and the threat of dire cuts or increased taxes, slots will pass. You can certainly be against slots and still plan to get a portion of the proceeds should it pass. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Do you believe that Worcester County is going to have to justify direct and indirect impacts from slots in order to get the 5.6%? I do. This whole thing is a political game to get folks scrambling after slots bucks and keep them from being focused on preventing them in the first place which should go a long way toward helping to get the slots referendum voted in. It seems to be working. |
