I don't agree that those pushing for the covered pool were "mostly" non-retirees.

Well you were at that famous meeting where a large group showed up to promote the pool. It was spearheaded by Dave Blazer [non retiree] and Board member Reid Sterret [non retiree] although swimmin women were also a factor [ retirees mostly]. In hind site it appears that an ulterior motive at the time was a covered pool so swim team members would have a place to practice in the winter. Personally I am glad they have one but was and am still against the underhanded way it was accomplished.
