Tom Stauss Passes
Tom Stauss, publisher of the Ocean Pines Progress, passed away this morning. Tom Stauss was one of the most influential people in the history of Ocean Pines. He was a superb writer whose journalism and commentary shaped this community more than any internal or external force in our history. No one understood this entity we call OPA better than Tom Stauss. Stauss’ writing was impacting the Ocean Pines community when I moved here in 1989. Over the next 36 years, we did not always agree on OPA political issues, but his professional approach to journalism demanded respect. Deserved respect. I will miss Tom Stauss. Ocean Pines will miss Tom Stauss. There will never be another Tom Stauss. May he rest in peace. - Joe Reynolds |
