I categorically reject Mr. Ransdell’s remarks at Saturday’s Board meeting. I brought up very valid concerns at the Election Committee’s April 28 meeting by stating “meeting minutes and agendas have not been posted in a timely fashion” and that “transparency is important for the election committee.” Interesting enough, I had to receive permission from Director Latham to make my comments hybrid when I noted that the agenda did not list the meeting’s location. I stand firmly by these words, which are nothing like the “negative misinformation” Mr. Ransdell claims.
The April 28 meeting is one of only a few meetings that posted an agenda (missing location), minutes and a video. The January 27, 2025 meeting featured a video but no agenda or minutes, clearly suggesting that closed meetings were held to discuss the RFPs and the Committee’s phone vote remains equally problematic. Further evidence of this opaque practice appears in earlier meetings. The October 29, 2024 meeting had a video but no agenda or minutes, while the September 20, 2024 meeting lacked both video and agenda. Its minutes merely noted, “due to facility issues, the Election Committee was unable to hold our regularly scheduled meeting. Committee members who were present received copies of last year’s ballot review. Changes will be discussed at last meeting.” Given these undeniable facts, Mr. Ransdell owes an apology for ridiculing my valid concerns and mischaracterizing them as “negative misinformation.” |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Well, the FACTS suggest he is not doing a good job. I offered facts to back up my opinion. You do not dispute the facts I presented. Instead you praise a committee chair who makes unsupported public comments accusing other unnamed association members via innuendo of providing misinformation. I would also recall he resigned from another committee after publicly attacking an OPA employee who subsequently resigned because she felt the board did too little about it. Am I incorrect on that? |
