To get Direct TV I would have also needed to sign up for internet to get a signal, an extra $60 a month over and above the cost of Direct TV so that was a no go. Comcast almost as much as Mediacom plus installation cost so no real savings there.
I bought an antenna from Walmart with what they claim can be either a 200 mile range or 1000 mile range depending on whether or not you switch to long range. It will pick up both HD and regular signals but because I have a HD TV I can only get HD channels. I have it in the window of my room and get 7 HD channels, all clear as a bell and free! The antenna cost me about $25 on sale, regular price, if I remember correctly, was $49. Im only down weekends so the major broadcast channels are all I really need. It's only my opinion but I think Mediacom rips us off, $175 for BASIC cabel is nuts! |
