Hi Tom
Thank you for the kind words - this is a total effort and the OPA board and the residents of Ocean Pines are happy to conjoin in the lawsuit to stop this offshore wind project that will effect our beach club and the beautiful view we have. It was a pleasure to have Mayor Meehan speak to the board and residents of ocean pines that were in attendance - they truly appreciated the Q&A between the Mayor and our residents. As to those who didn’t come to the board meeting - this topic was on the agenda and would have had an opportunity to have their questions answered. As far a the suggestion that OPA needed to hold a Town Hall - those are held by the Town of Ocean City as they are the lead with this important issue as they have had many for those interested to participate. Again - we are happy to be part of this important effort that effects all of us. Rick Farr, Vice President Ocean Pines Association |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'd like to thank you Mr Rick Farr for bringing this question of the Offshore Wind Turbines lawsuit into greater awareness for the folks of Ocean Pines. Its a very important topic, a challenge against the future vitality of the OC town, as well as our beloved Ocean Pines community. Tourism and the sports fishing industry are this area's lifeblood. And I've already thanked Mayor Rick Meehan when I happened to see him, walking in Ocean City, and recalling his impressive speech at the January 2024 meeting at the OC convention center. Also I've written to Congressman Andy Harris, after that January convention center meeting/hearing. On this forum I've thanked Commissioner Chip Bertino for his detailed writings on this same issue. And I thanked Mary Beth Carozza, seeing her walking in Berlin. So Mr Farr, you're in very good company among the various VIP's of this area. Again kudos to you for bringing this issue to Ocean Pines. And I'd extend the same thank you to all the board members supporting this lawsuit. PS Any folks unfamiliar with this topic would get a good start by looking at a summary from the January 2024 meeting at the Ocean City convention hall. Also look at the detailed report written by Commissioner Chip Bertino several months ago. That Bertino message was dated 8/18/2024 Bertino: County Disrespected |
