Ocean City mayor Rick Meehan was at the board meeting, along with County Commissioner president Chip Bertino. After Meehan's presentation, the Board of Directors voted six in favor and one abstention to join the OC lawsuit. This will cost OPA no legal fees. Ocean City is footing the bill. Meehan indicated the city would appeal this all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary.

Board member Steve Jacobs abstained. Asked after the meeting to explain in a clear concise way why he abstained, Jacobs said it was too complicated an issue for him to do so quickly.

Rick Farr made the motion and explained his reasoning. All board members except Jacobs explained why they supported the motion.

OPA president Stuart Lakernick allowed those in attendance to ask questions of Meehan.
