If what you say is true and I have no reason to believe it's not
I quoted Director Jacobs. Check the video. According to what Jacobs said at the board meeting, two of the six board members who voted to approve the appointment of the Elections Committee chair told Jacobs privately that the Facebook site in question was "repulsive." Is there no one else available to head the Elections Committee that is free of controversy? Of course there is. Why does the board risk any shadow of question about an election that takes place once year and that arrives with plenty of forewarning. The board's actions, when it comes to the Facebook site in question, and with regard to the board majority's apparent obsession with the women who are the subject of the online attacks, are inexplicable. Totally inexplicable. The board and the outgoing chairman of the Elections Committee were well aware of the activities of the two Election Committee members on the Facebook site, for many months. A number of board members frequent the site. A board candidate recently removed fifty or more "likes" of stuff posted to the Facebook site. Every board member is well aware of the trash posted to the Facebook page, and has been since it was started over a year or more ago for the sole purpose of attacking women who oppose the board majority politically. A number of sources say the operator of the Facebook site socializes with board-majority members at the Yacht Club. Opposing the political positions of these women is not the problem. I have a problem with some of their OPA political positions. The problem is the vile language used to attack them personally due solely to their political opposition to the board majority. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If what you say is true and I have no reason to believe it's not, then I have a basic question. Is there no one else available to head the Elections Committee that is free of controversy? Why does the board risk any shadow of question about an election that takes place once year and that arrives with plenty of forewarning. |
