Yes there was I recall, then we hired a Pickle Ball Company to come and build others as I recall.
I can say one thing for SURE, The Pickle Ball guys and gals I dealt with were not whiners! They were doers! I cannot remember a bad experience at the Pickle Ball courts. I will tell you Tennis is MUCH harder to take care of or it WAS in good old days. LOL |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: OK, since you weighed in, was there some platform tennis courts there at that time? Joe says pickle came first. I believe that platform, albeit fewer courts, was well established before pickle was established. Initially by making several of the tennis hard courts available for pickle. This was done with portable nets allowing two pickle courts on one hard surface tennis court. Joe believes that the good old days existed with only tennis at Manklin. I believe that platform and tennis coexisted peacefully for some period until the advent of pickle. I have no idea of what the charge for platform was at that time. Since they were the old courts moved from the North side, they may have been minimal. |
