I expect the project to be fully funded. Maryland spends approximately $50 million a year on these sort of projects and I am for environmental projects in my "backyard".
The contractor is not as confident, nor is MCBP, if you listened to what they said. Their contingency is to only build the high ground to 2 feet above water as opposed to four. So, if it is an "environmental" project and it is in your "backyard," then you could care less about how much it costs or if there is competitive bidding based on completed construction plans, or if there are more economical alternatives -- just so long as the "taxpayer" is footing the bill. Rather ironic, given your prior stance on some OPA projects. |
