After publicizing that police are going to be checking for OP ID's, seems quite possible that a rowdy crowd was thwarted. Perhaps chilling effect, and perhaps a protective one. Such advance planning seems precautionary & wise, instead of waiting 'til things get ugly, get out of hand.
Like putting life jackets on kids riding in our boat -- precautionary.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Seems the Police officials are NOT objecting, but ARE OK with their role. As an association member I believe the police should not be doing administrative work for an HOA. Controlling crowd size? What crowd? I was hoping you'd have some details, as I've only heard generalities. Yet it seems there's NOT been authoritative or official contradictions that threats in fact have occurred. Thus it still seems relevant. Now there is the factual info we have all been waiting to read. |
