I see you did not include the entire email exchange. My concern is a valid one. I have heard the GM met with Matt today to address the changes. Matt must now split his time between Coastal Salt, Coastal Smokehouse, Yacht Club and Clubhouse Grill without Ralph and Kearston's assistance. In season he adds the Beach Club and Rum Shack. Shouldn't the Board want to make sure that OPA remains the #1 priority and staff isn't spread too thin? I found Doug's response unprofessional. A simple thank you for your concerns, we are addressing the changes would have sufficed. Or....he could've not responded like is the case with every other email I send. Mr. Park's job isn't to defend Matt Ortt but to protect Ocean Pines. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Amy, thank you for sending me the email exchanges between you and Doug Parks regarding your email to OPA Directors regarding the Matt Ortt Companies management of OPA food and beverage facilities. Your email to the board stated: I see that Matt Ortt Company has it ties with Ralph DeAngelos. I assume this also means with Kearston and Lewis (and Tyler as an employee). My concern is coverage for Ocean Pines. It already appears that Matt's primary focus is not Ocean Pines. Just this Sunday, a peak football time for the Clubhouse, we witnessed Matt at Coastal Salt not the Clubhouse. This has been the case in the past as well. Please protect Ocean Pines' interests. Parks took exception to your comments, saying: Your lie and my claim of misleading and patently false information is based on the statement you made " It already appears that Matt's primary focus is not Ocean Pines.. and ..not the Clubhouse” When you can demonstrate to me your knowledge and experience in running a successful restaurant / food & beverage operation I will listen to your concerns. Until then, I stand by my previous comments. Not sure Parks responded in the best manner, but he was obviously upset about the tone, tenor, and innuendo expressed in your email to the board. Parks later says he met and shook hands with Ortt at the clubhouse on the very day you claimed Ortt wasn’t devoting enough time to OPA. Ortt Companies have done an outstanding job at our facilities. Out of curiosity, why would anyone be surprised to see Ortt at any of the facilities his company manages? Did you just happen to see him while riding along Route 50, or what? By the way, Lewis Sherman remains on staff as Director of Operations. |
