I just noticed an error in your calculation, since we are splitting hairs. 252.5 does NOT equal 253. Since half votes are not allowed the, majority is 252. I will stand with what I originally wrote. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: 50% + 1 is not a majority in the DR vote context nor does 50% + 1 = 51% The Parke has 503 lots. .5(503) = 251.5 +1 = 252.5 = 253 votes required for 50% +1 However, 252 is a majority of the lots in the Parke not 253: 252+251 = 503 lots When it comes to DR amendments the Parke is one of several sections that cannot amend its DR simply by a vote of the section members. Amending our (OPA) DR is by approval of a majority of all lot owners in OPA plus a writing signed by the Board (OPA). Jim Trummel |
