I'm not sure why there is so much negativity toward Ms. Diller but it feels very petty and junior high schoolish. I don't know all the history of OP but ugliness is a recurring theme. When my parents lived here in the 80s I don't recall so much negativity but it is palpable now. I joined the FB group Get Involved because I believe if people want change they need to get involved. Nearly 500 people quickly joined the group--that says something--people are unhappy with the current climate in OP. Joe, you freely criticize the OP board and often it is from you that I learn what's going on. I appreciate you taking the time to dissect the issues. So, why criticize others for calling the board members out when they don't represent our best interests? Your comment, "What sways board actions are board members, in particular, any four board members (two seats up for grabs this August). Diller knows this. Those joining her group do not," is insulting to everyone who has taken the time to be a part of the FB group and are trying to make an effort to create some positive momentum. Will it work? Who knows. What would you do in this situation? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My feeling is the board should respond equally to any homeowner whether part of a”group“ or not. I agree. Diller wants special treatment. In most cases, the board does not respond to public comments. Maybe Parks and/or Janasek will ask for a special exception. I have probably made more public comments than anyone living in Ocean Pines. I may do so in the future. That said, I can assure the "group" that public comments are a waste of time. For Diller to think her group is going to sway board actions via public comments is ridiculous. What sways board actions are board members, in particular any four board members (two seats up for grabs this August). Diller knows this. Those joining her group do not. |
