To me, it feels like Colby's resignation and all the secrecy and back-and-forth surrounding it might have finally energized more people to speak up about a number of issues.
I believe you are correct. This is all a reaction to the board not agreeing with Colby's charges against Larry Perrone. I don't recall this negativity. What happened? Nothing happened. Your memory is just bad. Back in the nineties there was the Concerned Citizens of Ocean Pines group. They held meetings in the old community center and could draw 200 people. Board meetings back then typically drew 100 or more people. There was a stand where people wanting to make public comments had to take a number. Not unusual to have 20 to 30 public comments at every meeting. These days, short of some major bruhaha, board meetings are lucky to have 5 association members in attendance -- pre pandemic. I don't think "negativity" is the right word to use. Like any HOA there are folks who like what board does, folks who dislike what the board does, and then the majority who have no idea what the board is doing. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, Thanks for responding. To me, it feels like Colby's resignation and all the secrecy and back-and-forth surrounding it might have finally energized more people to speak up about a number of issues. It's very sad that "the board could care less." I hope the FB group creates the positive momentum that it seeks to. You've lived here for a long time. I remember you and my father, Tom Kessler, fighting the development across Manklin Creek. I don't recall this negativity. What happened? |
