The above was true for me. Now all those jobs are essentially gone. The stories my dad always told me about growing up in Baltimore makes Baltimore very dear to my heart. He loved the city and enjoyed us taking him back whenever he came to visit us in Ellicott City. We tried to make as much time when he was with us to get him down to "Balmore" for a meal and drive through the streets where he used to live. I've always heard that if you were raised in Baltimore, you never really leave there. That was definitely true for my dad. Linda |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You had plenty of friends who worked at Sparrows Point, and each had an ugly old 'point car' to drive to work. Everybody else (it seemed) worked for GM on Broening Hwy., Western Electric, or National Brewery. The above was true for me. Now all those jobs are essentially gone. |
